Step 1 – Import source file (and optional target file)
🎯 Objective
Import a file containing the product information to be enriched (source
) and, if needed, a second file defining the desired final structure (target
).

📥 Source file (required)
This file contains the raw data to be enriched, translated, or transformed.
- Accepted formats:
.xlsx
or.csv
- Header row: optional
- If the file is a CSV:
- BeeXcel includes a delimiter validation step (e.g.,
;
,,
,\t
) and text qualifier detection ("
or'
).
- BeeXcel includes a delimiter validation step (e.g.,
The source file serves as the basis for processing (generation, translation, restructuring).
📥 Target file (optional)
The target file defines the exact structure of the final output file.
Unlike the source file, its structure is completely flexible:
- You can include any columns you want (e.g.,
SKU
,Name
,Description FR
,Bullet Points EN
,Image
,Data Sheet
, etc.). - Column order, labels, and quantity are 100% customizable.
- The mapping with the source file will be configured in the next step.
If no target file is provided, BeeXcel will generate an enriched file following the structure of the source file.
💡 Best practices
- Include a header row when possible to ease the configuration process.
- If using a CSV file:
- Check the delimiter and encoding (UTF-8 is recommended).
- In the target file:
- Create only the columns you need for export.
- Use clear column names to simplify future mapping.
